About
Nurture Collective, a practice that intersects the complexities of maternal-infant mental health and early childhood intervention, provides various services, including occupational, physical, and speech therapies, lactation support, feeding therapy, and parent-and-baby groups. This BIPOC-owned, female-led, company centers social-emotional development in addressing developmental delays. We also focus on mitigating the development delays by facilitating development of the parent-child relationships and addressing the factors that influence these delays, such as parental mental health and well-being. We believe in building supportive communities to support parents of young children, providing access to families that may not receive therapy services otherwise. We support families in Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas, and accept a variety of commercial insurance, Medi-Cal, and Regional Center funding.
We are seeking to hire a part-time physical therapist to provide physical therapy treatment to ensure our families have the tools, support, education, and training they need to support the development of young children (0-5). The ideal candidate is a collaborative and reflective provider with an understanding of child development, parental- infant mental health, and a passion for working on behalf of the healthy development of young children and their caregivers. The candidate must be organized, creative, a good collaborator, and thinks outside the box who can help envision the growth of the organization as well as help us achieve our vision.
*About the Job:*
* Adheres to and demonstrates Nurture Collective’s core values and mission in the performance of all aspects of this position
* Follow through on assigned referrals by providing intake, assessment/evaluation and recommendations, and physical therapy treatment to families on developmental skills in the areas of gross motor and fine motor, and support development of social/emotional, cognition, speech/language, self-help skills
* Maintain assigned caseload incorporating researched based intervention activities into daily routines that best facilitates child/family driven goals
* Coach parents to learn and follow through with interventions
* Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate and timely
* Prepare physical therapy assessment reports and maintain regular plans of care (treatment plans)
* Provide parent/caregiver education, coaching, consultation, training and outreach to community members, childcare settings and other service agency personnel in the area of child development and physical therapy
* Support families through the transition process before their child ages out of receiving Nurture Collective services
* Provide gross motor-based groups to clients as needed
* Participate as an advocate for families and as a representative of Nurture Collective at meetings and events throughout the community, state and beyond as requested
* All other duties as assigned
Job type: part-time W-2 employee
Basic qualifications:
* Minimum of Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
* Licensure or the ability to receive California licensure required
* Ability to drive and maintain California license and insurance on personal vehicle for work
* CPR/First Aid certification
* Ability to pass the pre-hire background check required
* At least one-year of pediatric experience with children and families is required
* Experience working with Part C/Early Intervention services is preferred
* Bilingual therapist (Spanish) speaking is preferred
Physical and Other Demands:
* Must be willing to travel as necessary to provide services in-home to families in the Los Angeles area
* Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships within the agency and with clients
* Must be able to work in a consultative model/transdisciplinary model of intervention and a family-centered service delivery model
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of testing equipment, toys and supplies
* Must be able to sit on the floor and move quickly after infants and toddlersProviding developmental assessments and treatments in a play-based approach for children ages birth to 3 in their natural environment
* Providing parent education and home programs related to treatment goals
* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of fellow treating clinicians
* Supporting and facilitating each child's progress through quality therapy, increasing opportunities for inclusion, and enhancing trusted caregiver-child relationships
* Completing biannual progress reports utilizing standardized developmental assessment tools
* Other related duties

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
