About

Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Inspection Supervisor, the incumbent supports quality control activities by performing accurate inspections of machined parts. The position is responsible for programming, operating, controlling, and validating the dimensional accuracy of parts using MITUTOYO machines and MCOSMOS software, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed inspections of machined parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), ensuring part dimensions comply with specified tolerances;

  • Develop and optimize measurement programs using MCOSMOS software;
  • Prepare programming files for MITUTOYO machines;
  • Update and maintain existing programs according to technical changes;
  • Carry out inspection operations on machined parts using CMM / MITUTOYO machines;
  • Verify part conformity against engineering drawings and technical specifications;
  • Perform regular calibration of measurement equipment;
  • Ensure first-level maintenance of machines and software;
  • Analyze measurement results and prepare inspection reports;
  • Identify, document, and communicate any non-conformities;
  • Accurately interpret inspection results by providing detailed reports on tolerance deviations or detected defects, and recommend corrective actions when necessary; Participate in quality control process optimization initiatives;
  • Update procedures, technical documents, and programs;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Job Requirements

Educational requirements

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in mechanical engineering, inspection, aerospace manufacturing, machining, or any other relevant training combined with appropriate experience;
  • Specific training on MCOSMOS and MITUTOYO machines (an asset).

Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, in dimensional inspection within an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment;
  • Proficiency in CMM programming, particularly with MCOSMOS, and use of MITUTOYO machines;
  • Good knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and FAI requirements;
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications;
  • Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French; knowledge of English is an asset.
