Lockheed Martin is seeking a motivated and capable Software Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics solutions for platform performance metrics. This is a hands-on technical role where you will contribute across the solution lifecycle - from requirements analysis and implementation through integration, testing, and deployment.
A successful candidate will possess a solid foundational understanding of software engineering concepts and will apply that knowledge to solve a variety of technical problems. They will work under general supervision, receiving direction on assignments while exercising increasing independence as they build proficiency. Their work will be reviewed regularly to support professional growth and quality assurance.
The selected candidate will work as an active contributor within a cross-functional engineering organization, engaging in technical discussions and implementation tasks alongside experienced engineers. This position requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, customer stakeholders, and program leads to ensure deliverables meet stakeholder requirements, cybersecurity constraints, and technical performance objectives.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the implementation of software solutions within large-scale, data-intensive ecosystems, with attention to scalability and maintainability
Assist in translating stakeholder requirements into technical designs and development tasks under the guidance of senior engineers
Follow and help maintain system technical standards across software, tooling, and data platforms
Support development of proof-of-concept prototypes to validate design approaches and reduce technical risk
Participate in formal design reviews and adhere to engineering standards and applicable cybersecurity controls

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Experience with Python, C++, or C#, with familiarity in OOP principles, APIs, and basic design patterns
Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
Experience using agile software development tools and methodologies (e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab)
***Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance updated within the last 5 years to be considered.***
Desired skills
Advanced coursework or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Proficiency in scripting with Python
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with Agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines
Data visualization experience with tools such as Tableau, Plotly Dash, or Python-based libraries
Experience with data manipulation and time-series analysis using NumPy and Pandas

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
