About
Fortune Media is looking for its first dedicated Salesforce Developer to own, build, and evolve our Salesforce ecosystem. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant autonomy - you'll be our internal technical expert shaping how we use Salesforce across our enterprise sales, consumer subscriptions, events, and marketing operations. You'll work closely with our Technology, Marketing and Revenue teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, and/or Marketing Cloud, including custom objects, flows, triggers and API/webhook integrations Execute requirements gathering with business stakeholders and help translate needs into technical specifications and scalable architecture Own end-to-end delivery of Salesforce projects - from scoping and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and documentation Build and manage integrations between Salesforce and adjacent systems (Fortune.com, CRM data, marketing automation platforms, subscription management, event platforms, and financial systems) Establish and enforce Salesforce development best practices, coding standards, and release management processes as our foundational practitioner Conduct data migrations, manage data quality initiatives, and support ongoing hygiene across CRM records Serve as a key technical resource for Salesforce administrators and business stakeholders, providing guidance on platform capabilities and limitations Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify opportunities to improve system health and user adoption
What You Bring
Required
Core Engineering Excellence: Deep expertise in computer science fundamentals, system design, and programming (e.g., Java, C#, or Python), with a proven track record of solving complex software challenges. Salesforce Mastery: 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, with the ability to bridge the gap between standard platform capabilities and custom, high-performance engineering solutions.
Experience with REST/SOAP API integrations and connecting Salesforce to third-party platforms Solid understanding of Salesforce data model, security model, and governor limits Salesforce Platform Developer I certification and Platform Developer II, a plus Ability to work independently, prioritize across competing demands, and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
Engineering Excellence & Problem Solving:
Demonstrated ability to solve complex, high-scale engineering problems through clean, efficient code.
Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) beyond basic scripting for data manipulation.
System Design & Distributed Architecture:
Expertise in designing scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
Deep understanding of system design trade-offs (e.g., CAP theorem, latency vs. throughput, synchronous vs. asynchronous processing) in the context of enterprise data pipelines.
Advanced Data Modelling:
Beyond SQL proficiency, candidates should have a deep understanding of NoSQL vs relational schemas and how to optimise data structures for high-performance retrieval in a CDP/CRM environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with Marketing Cloud (AMPscript, Journey Builder, or API integration) and other ESPs and CDP integrations into Sales Cloud Familiarity with media, publishing, or subscription business models is a plus Experience in a startup or lean team environment where you've been the primary Salesforce resource Additional certifications (Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, etc.) are a bonus
What Success Looks Like
In your first month, you will have audited our existing Salesforce configuration, established development standards, and delivered at least one meaningful integration or automation project that improves how our revenue teams operate. Within a few months, you'll be the trusted internal authority on our Salesforce platform, delivering against a roadmap that supports Fortune's broader revenue and marketing technology goals.
Salary Range:
Upto $150,000, inclusive of annual variable

This role will be based in NYC( no remote set up possible)
This role is NOT eligible for candidates inside/outside the US on Visa and may need a Visa sponsorship in future.
