Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this opportunity is $87,984 to $131,976, with a median salary of $109,980/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities
Project Planning
Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision. Participate in software selection and vendor evaluation processes. Participate in and lead network-related projects, including upgrades, expansions, and migrations Assist with planning, scheduling, testing, and implementation of network changes Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business requirements Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technology refresh efforts Participate in security improvement initiatives (e.g., segmentation, zero-trust efforts) Communication
Work directly with business leaders to capture incoming requests and translate incoming demand into concrete IS deliverables and specific changes to the environment. Proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external team members to achieve group goals and objectives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, standards, and procedures Clearly document incidents, changes, and solutions in ticketing and knowledge management systems Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Provide regular updates on network status, risks, and improvements to management and team members Technical Support
Work directly with other IS technical resources and/or vendor technical support to troubleshoot problems and resolve application issues and Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance, connectivity, and security issues Provide tier 2/3 network support for LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and internet connectivity Respond to incidents, outages, and service requests in accordance with SLAs Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of network infrastructure Configure, manage, and maintain network firewalls and security appliances Monitor firewall performance, availability, and security events Apply firewall rule changes, firmware updates, and patches following change management processes Support secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity Solution Design
Design scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions to meet current and future business needs Design secure network connectivity using firewalls, segmentation, and access controls Evaluate new technologies, tools, and vendors to improve network performance and reliability Establish and develop network design standards and best practices Support cloud, hybrid, and on-premises network design initiatives Ensure network designs align with security standards and compliance requirements Leadership and Collaboration
Collaborate with architecture, security, and application teams to ensure integrated solutions Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members Participate in change management, risk assessments, and technical review Promote best practices for network security, reliability, and operational excellence Other Duties
Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed. Participate in on-call rotation or be available for system support after normal business hours. Perform cross-functional duties as assigned. The primary work arrangement for this position is remote; however, occasional in-office presence may be required for meetings or specific projects and support. Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, Network+) Preferred
Experience at project management and team leadership Experience with cloud networking (Microsoft Azure and/or AWS) Knowledge of network security best practices and frameworks Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and architectures Hands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto) Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools Understanding of network security principles and best practices Experience in requirements gathering, design, development, and gap analysis Understand general technical design specifications and architecture to identify potential challenges with supporting the identified business requirements Strong communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively Attention to detail and commitment to reliability and security Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience Ability to take a business problem and break it down into a series of actionable steps that ultimately help address the gap Experience with cloud networking and SD-WAN Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible) Experience in high-availability and disaster recovery network designs
