About Us

At Orange Grove , we believe that strong relationships are the cornerstone of successful fostering. Founded in 1996 by two dedicated social workers, our mission has always been to nurture connections—whether it’s with the children in our care, our foster parents, or our partners in the community. We invest time and resources into building these relationships, ensuring a safe and positive environment for everyone involved.

The Role

We are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the vital role of foster parents. In this collaborative position, you will:

  • Promote meaningful supervision of placements alongside foster parents.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of care.
  • Travel across the North West, so a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

This role is both demanding and rewarding, encompassing quality assurance and training for foster parents, while ensuring the welfare of children placed with us.

Requirements
  • Hold a Social Work England qualification or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in fostering and a comprehensive understanding of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality practice.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and participate in an Out of Hours rota.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in meetings and decision-making processes.

At Orange Grove Fostercare, we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer. We actively encourage applications from qualified candidates and are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Join us in making a difference!
