Basic Salary: £22,369.35

Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Term Time, Full Time

Location: Battle, Sussex

About Us

Welcome to ISP School, a Special Educational Needs School with over 20 years of experience in Kent! We are dedicated to supporting vulnerable children aged 7 to 16 with a wide range of complex needs.

Our mission is to provide each pupil with a diverse and appropriate education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, inspires learning, and encourages aspiration and achievement. We are excited to announce the opening of our new school in Battle, East Sussex, with a full capacity of 60 pupils, set in a stunning country estate.

Your Role

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of no more than five pupils.
  • Assisting the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
  • Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, collaborating with other school staff to meet pupils' needs.
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
  • Setting work where appropriate and marking assignments.
  • Building positive relationships with your pupil/s to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to lead on a specialism (e.g., Reading, Mathematics, Forest School).
  • Experience in behavior management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work (cost covered by ISP).
