Opened in September 2024, Ormston School provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18. Our mission is to create a learning space where young people can thrive, feel secure, and leave school equipped with the skills and experiences they need to contribute positively to their communities.

Your Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Teach small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant.
  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that cater to the diverse needs of your students.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on the learning progress of your pupils.
  • Adapt your teaching methods to inspire and motivate all learners.
  • Participate in preparing learners for external tests and assessments.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
  • Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to meet their needs.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Good ICT skills to enhance learning.

Location: Headingley, Leeds

Salary: £28,000 - £39,520

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Start Date: ASAP

Note: The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris Community.
