Now, we’re looking for a qualified and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Northwest team!
About the RoleAs a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our foster parents and ensuring the welfare of the children in our care. Your collaborative approach will help foster meaningful supervision of placements, and your expertise will guide our foster parents in their essential roles.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload, ensuring high levels of supervision.
- Conduct regular supervision sessions, monitoring practice and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in meetings and decision-making processes.
- Engage in recruitment, training, and supervision of foster parents.
- Maintain high standards through quality assurance and training initiatives.
- A Social Work England qualification or equivalent, with registration.
- Experience in fostering and a comprehensive understanding of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality practice.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Willingness to participate in an Out of Hours rota and undertake an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by us).
This is a full-time position with a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover . You will work 37 hours per week in our Northwest office, starting in March 2026 .
