As a key leader, you will tackle diverse challenges by integrating data from various internal and external sources utilizing cloud-native platforms and established software development practices. You will also engineer advanced software tools that capitalize on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data techniques, improving our services for our members. Key Responsibilities: Craft and implement applications employing state-of-the-art data engineering technologies. Act as the main point of contact for your team, developing proofs of concept and rapid prototypes using modern industry practices. Implement Agile development methodologies throughout design, coding, testing, and documentation processes. Formulate strategies and designs for projects in your technical domain, supervising system upgrades and deployments. Create comprehensive documentation and define technical procedures for the department. Make educated decisions on moderately to highly complex project components, exercising autonomy with significant discretion. Diagnose business and production issues by gathering relevant information, collaborating with support teams, and crafting actionable plans. Stay informed on technology trends, explore new innovations, and mentor peers within the engineering community. Required Qualifications: 12+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Data Lakes, Event Streaming, and DevOps. 8+ years in software application design, emphasizing best practices and a design-first approach. 8+ years of practical experience with Python, Azure Databricks, Pyshark, and Snowflake. Experience with event-based streaming using Kafka and formats such as JSON or Avro. Proficient in designing and developing cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms. Proven experience leading engineering teams through comprehensive project deliveries. Expertise in federated data architectures (e.g., Data Mesh) and centralized data models. Strong foundation in metadata management, data lineage, governance, discovery, and quality assurance. Familiarity with database systems such as Oracle or SQL Server. Commitment to teamwork and a proactive attitude towards delivering high-quality results. Experience adapting existing applications to introduce new features while preserving current functionality. Knowledge of GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, JUnit, and unit testing through TDD and BDD approaches. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and code quality assessment tools. Possess a test-driven mindset utilizing frameworks like JUnit, SOAPUI, and Selenium. Proficient in Agile methodologies. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and tools, along with MLOps. Experience creating scalable solutions on large distributed databases. Skilled in React or Angular. Familiarity with microservices design and development. Exposure to AI technologies. Work from Home Requirements: To ensure effective remote work, employees must have an internet connection with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. Wired cable or DSL connections are recommended; however, satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be acceptable with prior approval. Employees in select states may receive bi-weekly internet expense reimbursements. Necessary telephone equipment for remote work roles will be provided. It is vital to maintain a dedicated workspace free from interruptions to protect member PHI and comply with HIPAA regulations. Travel:
Occasional travel to company offices for training or meetings may be required, though this role primarily supports remote work. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: The estimated salary range for this full-time role is $142,300 - $195,700 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on location and qualifications. This position is also eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on performance metrics.
