As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and scale the customer-facing platforms and services that allow Fortune 500 companies to harness our purpose-built AI infrastructure. Your work is the gateway to our cloudfocusing on delivering high-scale, reliable services for authentication, user management, billing, and resource orchestration. Our mission is to provide an intuitive, seamless user flow that masks the underlying complexity of advanced AI workloads. You will be at the forefront of redefining how climate-aligned computing is delivered, ensuring that our backend systems set the "gold standard" for reliability and scalability in a hyper-competitive market. This is a full-time role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of robust systems architecture and high-impact customer empowerment. Scalable Service Design: Design and maintain the mission-critical services that power the Crusoe Cloud experience, including identity and access management (IAM), billing engines, and usage tracking. Customer-Facing Innovation: Partner with Product and Design teams to evaluate frameworks and build features that differentiate Crusoe Cloud, focusing on low-touch adoption and turn-key AI services. Infrastructure Backend Systems: Build the underlying systems that provide scalable, reliable access to physical infrastructure resources, from initial authentication to complex resource gateways. Architectural Leadership: Contribute to high-level architectural decisions that ensure the long-term maintainability, security, and reliability of our global cloud platform. Process Automation: Develop automation software that simplifies infrastructure deployment, enabling a seamless experience for customers scaling their AI operations. Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate closely with Cloud Support, Site Reliability, and Engineering teams to align technical roadmaps with direct customer feedback. Culture & Mentorship: Guide fellow engineers through design reviews and code quality standards, while actively contributing to hiring and building an inclusive, world-class engineering culture. Extensive Engineering Experience: 5+ years of software development experience, with a mastery of modern compiled languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or C++. Distributed Systems Expertise: A proven track record of designing, scaling, and maintaining fault-tolerant distributed systems and managed cloud services. Cloud-Native Technical Proficiency: Strong fundamentals in microservices architecture and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD pipelines. Customer-Centric Mindset: A passion for building intuitive, high-quality tools that directly impact customer success. Experience building infrastructure or developer tooling is a significant plus. Problem-Solving Fundamentals: Deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms, with the ability to apply them to complex, real-world scaling challenges. Mentorship & Growth: Demonstrated experience guiding engineers, improving onboarding processes, and fostering technical excellence within a team. Clear Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts and align them with broader business goals and customer needs. Bonus Points: Direct experience building or scaling a public cloud console or developer platform. Familiarity with the unique requirements of AI/ML workloads and their impact on cloud resource management. Experience with financial or billing systems at scale (usage-based billing, credits, etc.). Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment or a "Neocloud" infrastructure provider. Contributions to open-source projects related to cloud-native infrastructure or developer experience. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
