We are seeking a
Principal DevOps Engineer
to play a key role in advancing how our organization builds, delivers, and operates software. This is a senior, principal-level, hands-on technical position with broad influence across engineering, infrastructure, and quality teams.
In this role, you will serve as a
technical leader and mentor , helping to establish DevOps standards and best practices while guiding teams toward highly automated, secure, and scalable delivery pipelines. You will be trusted as a top-level expert, consulted across multiple teams, and relied upon to help modernize platforms and processes.
What you'll do Advocate for and champion DevOps practices across the organization Design, implement, and continuously improve
fully automated CI/CD pipelines , with security, quality, performance, scalability, and reliability built in Lead and support
Kubernetes administration and implementation , including container orchestration and platform standardization Provide operational support to software and quality engineers, acting as a liaison between development and infrastructure teams Enhance and modernize legacy deployment processes while increasing automation Collaborate with software engineers, systems administrators, and network engineers to reduce complexity and standardize technologies Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and outages, including occasional off-hours support for production releases Introduce and evaluate new technologies and approaches, including cloud computing, microservices, and evolving DevOps tooling Establish standards, documentation, and best practices that are clear, usable, and scalable Lead and mentor DevOps engineers , helping others grow their skills and adopt consistent DevOps practices Guide developers and quality engineers to ensure DevOps processes support the entire software development lifecycle What we're looking for 10+ years of DevOps experience , including
3+ years in a senior or principal-level role Strong experience contributing to the standardization of SDLC processes across an organization Hands-on expertise with:
Windows and Linux systems Infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar tools) Cloud platforms with experience implementing
Azure
at an organizational level CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Octopus Container creation and orchestration, including
Kubernetes administration and implementation
Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash) Experience managing source control with Git Ability and willingness to contribute to software development tasks (C#, MVC, .NET Core, or similar) Familiarity with test automation frameworks for UI and API testing Experience with MS SQL Server and integration test automation tools (Postman, SoapUI, XUnit) Strong understanding of standard IT security practices, including encryption and certificate/key management Proven experience
mentoring, teaching, and guiding others
in DevOps practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and professional approach Experience in banking or credit union environments is a plus, but not required. Why join us

Education

Has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities, but performs tasks related to establishing best practices and reviewing the work of others as directed by the DevOps Manager.
