Arcadis are seeking a Project Engineer for an Oil & Gas assignment located in Whitegate, Cork. This is initially a 12-month contract with high potential of longevity.

Responsibilities
- Oversee projects from initial concept through design, construction, and final review, ensuring all work meets agreed goals, deadlines, and budgets.
- Create and maintain project plans, cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments, and provide regular updates to management.
- Coordinate work across different engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure all parts of the project come together smoothly and meet required standards.
- Lead the management of inspections and repairs for the site's underground drainage system, including working with contractors and ensuring environmental compliance.
- Organize procurement activities by preparing work scopes, supporting the selection of suppliers, and ensuring all approvals are in place.
- Support construction activities by preparing necessary safety and work plans, reviewing designs, and helping resolve technical questions during execution.
- Keep all stakeholders informed and engaged through regular updates, meetings, and proactive issue resolution.
- Ensure all project records are completed, organized, and handed over properly at project close-out, and participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.
Requirements
- Hold a Level 8 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience delivering capital projects in industrial or refinery environments.
- Demonstrable experience across the full project lifecycle (concept, design, construction, commissioning) and strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and standards.
- Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, cost tracking and reporting; experience with Oracle or similar ERP/project systems for document and expenditure management.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and Construction Design Management principles, with experience preparing Safety & Health Plans and managing contractor safety compliance.
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance processes, preparation of ITPs, inspection documentation and delivering projects to regulatory and company quality standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to plan methodically, work under pressure to tight timelines, resolve conflicting requirements and present clear information to support decision-making.
