We are seeking a reliable and skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials and products within our warehouse facility. Your efforts will directly support the smooth operation of our distribution processes. Key responsibilities include operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring inventory is properly stored and accessible. A strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, is essential. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to perform consistent lifting of heavy items. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Organize and stack materials in designated locations.
- Perform regular equipment checks and maintenance.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Ensure that all materials are handled in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Wear all required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material status and needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or similar role.
- Valid forklift certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 60 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
