We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency and integrity of our warehouse equipment and facilities, supporting our extensive logistics network. As a Warehouse Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and minor repairs of warehouse machinery, including forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and other material handling equipment. You will also assist with general facility maintenance to ensure a safe and productive work environment. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. We adhere to the highest standards of Safety, and you will be required to follow all safety protocols, utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) effectively, and ensure that all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with safety regulations. This position requires technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to perform tasks that may involve some physical exertion, including occasional Lifting. - Perform routine preventative maintenance on warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with warehouse equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, adhering to operating standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse facility to identify and address potential hazards.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and the proper use of PPE during all maintenance and repair tasks.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed for maintenance or operational support.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and operational issues.
- Support the overall logistics and operational goals of the warehouse through proactive maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing warehouse equipment or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and general repair techniques.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and the critical importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, including occasional Lifting and working in various conditions.
- Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills.
