Join our bustling warehouse as a Receiving Clerk in Atlanta, Georgia! We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to manage the incoming flow of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our logistics operations. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming shipments, responsible for verifying quantities, inspecting for damage, and accurately documenting receipts. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the smooth functioning of our warehouse. Your primary duties will include unloading trucks, scanning items, and updating our inventory management system. We emphasize a strong commitment to Safety, and you will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. The position involves moderate physical exertion, including some Lifting of packages and operating equipment. Experience with warehouse equipment is a plus. You'll work closely with our inventory control team and other warehouse staff to ensure seamless operations. A proactive approach and excellent organizational skills are key. - Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
- Verify shipment contents against packing slips and purchase orders, noting any discrepancies.
- Inspect goods for damage and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately record all received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming products as required.
- Organize and stage received goods for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean and safe receiving area, adhering to all Safety guidelines.
- Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed, following proper procedures for PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in receiving or warehouse operations is an advantage.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
