About
Our Austin, Texas warehouse is looking for a reliable and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment goods arrive. Your responsibilities will include unloading, inspecting, verifying, and documenting all incoming inventory. This position requires a meticulous approach to detail and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and Safety protocols. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring a smooth flow of goods into our facility. Adherence to all Safety policies, including the correct use of PPE, is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and unpack incoming shipments.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Verify received items against system records.
- Document all receiving activities accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and prepare received items for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking as needed.
- Follow established logistics procedures for all incoming freight.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with WMS or similar inventory software is a plus.
