About
Our growing logistics operation in Washington, D.C. is seeking a skilled Material Handler to ensure the smooth flow of goods within our facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and organization of materials. Key duties include loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, transporting inventory to and from designated areas, and assisting with stock placement and consolidation. You will play a vital part in maintaining an orderly and safe warehouse environment. A strong commitment to safety is essential, including rigorous adherence to all operational procedures and the consistent use of required PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots. This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 60 pounds, standing, walking, and operating machinery for extended periods. Experience with various types of material handling equipment and a solid understanding of warehouse logistics are beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload materials from vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Transport materials to and from designated locations within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and stock organization.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Report any equipment issues or safety concerns immediately.
