Job Summary:
Our Des Moines, Iowa location is seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to manage the inbound flow of goods. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments, ensuring that our inventory is precise and up-to-date. This role is critical to our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring that materials are processed correctly and promptly. You will work in a busy warehouse environment, interacting with vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy. Experience with inventory management systems is a plus. Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
  • Inspect incoming goods for damage, defects, and discrepancies against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
  • Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
  • Tag and label received products according to company procedures.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any discrepancies or damages found during receiving.
  • Organize and stage incoming inventory for put-away by warehouse staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
  • Support the overall logistics operations of the warehouse.
  • Must be prepared for lifting and moving boxes and materials.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
  • Experience with inventory management software is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
  • Must be able to perform lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential.
  • Understanding of basic logistics principles is beneficial.
