About
Our Madison, Wisconsin warehouse is looking for a meticulous Inventory Clerk to maintain the accuracy and integrity of our stock. As an Inventory Clerk, you will be instrumental in managing and tracking our inventory levels, ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include conducting cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and assisting with physical inventories. You will be working with our warehouse management system (WMS) to record stock movements, manage put-away, and ensure optimal stock rotation. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of inventory control principles are essential. This role requires someone who is organized, analytical, and committed to accuracy. Safety is a top priority; you will be required to adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While the role is primarily focused on data and accuracy, there will be some physical aspects, including occasional lifting. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Process stock adjustments, transfers, and returns.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure availability and prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
- Assist with the organization and layout of warehouse inventory.
- Ensure proper stock rotation (e.g., FIFO - First-In, First-Out).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Support the logistics team with inventory-related data and reporting.
- Operate pallet jacks or other equipment as needed for inventory movement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Clerk, Inventory Control Specialist, or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
