About
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Washington, D.C. This critical role involves operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in our warehouse. You will ensure efficient movement of goods, maintain warehouse organization, and support our overall logistics operations. Safety is paramount, and you will be responsible for operating equipment safely and adhering to all company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is reliable, possesses a valid forklift certification, and has a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Move, stack, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
- Perform regular inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE, such as hard hats and safety shoes.
- Assist with receiving, shipping, and inventory control tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Responsible for lifting and moving items up to 70 lbs when not operating machinery.
- Ensure efficient material flow and support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA certification).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional heavy lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
