3 Days Office) Sector: Digital Health / Medical Technology Are you a Senior Java Developer who enjoys designing scalable cloud platforms and building secure backend services that power modern digital products? Were working with an innovative medical technology company developing connected digital platforms and mobile applications used by customers worldwide. Theyre looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong AWS cloud experience to help design and build the backend services that power a growing digital health ecosystem. This platform integrates mobile applications, connected devices and data-driven health services, creating a technically challenging and meaningful environment for experienced backend engineers. The Role As a Senior Java Developer you will design and develop scalable backend services and cloud infrastructure supporting mobile and connected-device platforms. Youll work closely with mobile engineers, DevOps, QA and product teams, helping shape the architecture of a growing cloud platform. The role offers the opportunity to work across microservices, distributed systems and cloud-native architectures, contributing to both feature delivery and long-term system design. Key Responsibilities Develop backend services using Java and AWS Build scalable REST APIs and microservices Design and optimise PostgreSQL databases Implement secure OAuth-based authentication frameworks Develop serverless components using AWS Lambda Manage compute infrastructure using EC2 Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform Ensure high availability, scalability and security across cloud systems Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and Agile ceremonies Required Experience Strong Java backend development experience Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services Experience building REST APIs or microservices Strong database experience with PostgreSQL or similar Experience implementing secure authentication systems Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform or similar) Desirable Experience Experience building platforms supporting mobile or API-driven products Experience working with serverless architectures Experience working within regulated or high-reliability environments Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment Whats on Offer Hybrid working
