The Solution Architect will be responsible for driving the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions across the enterprise for a pan-European bank. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in solutions architecture, enterprise systems, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, and a track record of successfully delivering complex IT solutions within the banking sector

What you'll be doing

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements, align with technical standards, and adhere to security and compliance regulations.
• Define solution architecture blueprints, patterns, and standards to guide development teams and ensure consistency across projects.
• Technology Evaluation and Selection:
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies,frameworks, and platforms to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in solution delivery.
• Provide recommendations on technology stack selection based on business needs,scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, developers, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements, assess feasibility, and define solution roadmaps.
• Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide architecture guidance to the Technical Analysts fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a technical authority and subject matter expert, providing guidance and oversight on architecture decisions, design reviews, and implementation best practices.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in solutions architecture.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements, including GDPR, and other relevant standards.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Evaluate third-party vendors, partners, and service providers for technology solutions, conducting due diligence and managing relationships effectively.
• Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and licensing agreements with vendors as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualification and competencies:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, enterprise systems design, and implementation, preferably within the banking or financial services industry

Must have:

• Knowledge of the Credits domains (like Lending, Credit Origination, Credit Simulation, Mortgages, Credit Collaterals) within Financial Services
• Strong technical background with expertise in cloud computing (e.g., Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, API design, and integration patterns.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex, scalable, and resilient IT solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams are desirable.
• Fluent spoken and written English is required
