About
*Role Overview*
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Technical Project Manager (PM) to lead and coordinate end-to-end circuit turn-up activities across multiple data center environments. This role serves as the central point of coordination between carriers, ISPs, data center providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of network connectivity services. This is a six month engagement with the real possibility of becoming permanent for the right professional.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Act as the primary point of contact for all circuit turn-up activities from initial carrier provisioning through final acceptance
* Coordinate with carriers, ISPs, data center providers, and internal stakeholders to manage timelines, dependencies, and delivery expectations
* Develop, manage, and track project schedules, milestones, and task checklists across multiple sites
* Manage and track carrier and data center tickets, ensuring consistent follow-up and progress toward resolution
* Coordinate Smart Hands resources for cross-connect installation, validation, and remediation (no physical/on-site work required)
* Validate circuit delivery to Meet-Me Rooms (MMRs) and coordinate readiness for turn-up based on documentation and stakeholder confirmation
* Review and validate cross-connect documentation, test results, and handoff details provided by third parties
* Lead recurring troubleshooting and escalation calls with carriers, data centers, and internal teams
* Drive issue resolution through structured troubleshooting and escalation processes until circuits meet acceptance criteria
* Maintain accurate project documentation, status reporting, and escalation tracking, including visibility into risks and dependencies
*Important Considerations*
* This role is coordination-focused and does not involve physical installation or on-site technical work
* Project timelines may be influenced by third-party providers (carriers, fiber construction, data centers), which are outside direct control
*Service Levels & Expectations*
*Response Times*
* Critical issues (business hours): acknowledgment within 4 business hours
* Critical issues (after hours): acknowledgment by 12:00 PM ET next business day
* Standard requests: acknowledgment within 1 business day
* Email inquiries: response within 1 business day
*Reporting & Communication*
*Weekly Reporting*
* Provide a weekly status report (Thursdays) to support planning and alignment
* Reports include:
* Circuit status and progress updates
* Risks, constraints, and blockers
* Active escalations
* Upcoming milestones and next steps
* Third-party dependencies impacting timelines
*Monthly Executive Summary*
* Deliver a high-level executive report outlining:
* Overall project health
* Performance trends
* Key accomplishments
* Risks and forward-looking priorities
*Project & Timeline Management*
* Drive circuit turn-ups toward target timelines using best practices and proactive coordination
* Recognize and manage impacts from third-party dependencies such as carrier provisioning and data center scheduling
*Escalation Management*
When delays occur due to third parties, you will:
* Document and track the delay
* Notify stakeholders within 1 business day
* Provide impact assessments
* Initiate escalation with the responsible provider
* Deliver ongoing updates until resolution
*Ideal Candidate*
* Strong experience in telecom, networking, or data center environments
* Proven ability to manage multi-site, multi-vendor projects
* Excellent communication, coordination, and escalation management skills
* Ability to operate effectively in environments with external dependencies and shifting timelines
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Permanent
Pay: $70.00 - $85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
