Job Description The Role: Join our innovative Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD) and Embedded Software Development Tools Group as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in DevOps. In this vital role, you will enhance our CICD pipelines, ensuring they are equipped with robust build and test functionalities to support GM's embedded software production. Our cloud-based platform offers integrated virtual workspaces, seamless integration with test environments, and continuous visibility into software quality. What You'll Do: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality CICD pipelines for embedded software production.
Collaborate across teams to establish best practices for build and test automation within CICD pipelines.
Optimize the scalability, reliability, and security of pipelines for effective software delivery.
Integrate test environments with CICD pipelines, enabling automated testing on both physical and virtual hardware.
Monitor pipeline performance and software quality metrics; identify improvements and implement enhancements.
Troubleshoot and resolve CASCD pipeline issues, working closely with software developers and stakeholders.
Stay current with industry trends in DevOps, infusing the latest advancements into the development of pipelines.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in software tools development focused on DevOps and CICD pipelines.
Expertise in building and maintaining CICD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
Experience with cloud platforms and familiarity with integrated virtual workspaces.
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Comprehensive understanding of embedded software development practices.
Familiar with test automation frameworks and software testing tools.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage in cross-functional teams.
