Cyber Operations Engineer

The Cyber Operations Engineer is responsible for the continuous improvement, governance, and operational effectiveness of the Cyber security tooling, configurations, and control implementations, focused on strengthening cyber defences by ensuring the cyber tools are configured and performing optimally.

What You’ll Do

• Continuously improve the configuration and effectiveness of enterprise security tools
• Strengthen controls across endpoint, cloud, identity, email, data and network security
• Work closely with SOC, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and engineering teams.
• Translate real-world attack techniques and incident learnings into preventive and detective security controls
• Support governance by ensuring security configurations align with standards and policies
• Contribute to security standards, runbooks, and operational processes
• Assist with the rollout and operationalisation of new cyber security technologies

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years experience in cybersecurity or IT, with strong hands-on operational experience
• Background in security operations, security engineering, infrastructure, or cloud engineering. xcfaprz
• Experience working closely with SOC and IT operations teams.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, Security+, or cloud security certifications
• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash)

• CrowdStrike
• Microsoft Purview
• Cloud native security controls
