Join Our Team as a Skilled CNC Operator!

At Waukesha Bearings , a proud part of Dover Precision Components , we are on the lookout for a talented Skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic team. Here, you’ll be immersed in a cutting-edge Computer Aided Manufacturing facility, where you’ll utilize advanced CNC machining centers for turning, milling, and grinding operations. Your expertise will help us create customized designs from a variety of materials, including steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and bronze.

Our facility boasts a diverse range of multi-axis machine tools, lathes, mills, and associated equipment. You’ll be working on a high-mix of customized fluid-film bearings, seals, and isolators, serving customers across Europe and beyond. If you’re ready to make an impact, read on!

What You Will Bring
  • Qualifications: Time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline or SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years operating CNC machine tools in a lean-manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Established milling experience with multi-axis machine tools, ideally Correa and/or Doosan.
  • Machine Control Systems: Familiarity with systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, or Haas.
  • Precision: Proven ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
  • Inspection Tools: Experience with precision inspection equipment like micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Industry Background: Ideally, experience in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or similar fields.
What You Will Do
  • Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements.
  • Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
  • Interpret work instructions and select appropriate tooling for operations.
  • Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials.
  • Edit or write complete programs as needed.
  • Understand tooling and machinery capabilities intuitively.
  • Perform quality inspections and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
  • Visually inspect final components and prepare them for shipment.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments for quality verification.
Working Conditions

We offer a 37-hour working week , Monday to Friday, with permanent employment contracts. You can choose between:

  • £44,919.62 for a rotating shift pattern of early (6am) and backshifts (2pm).
  • £52,452.37 for working on the night shift.

These rates include a shift premium, along with additional benefits such as:
