Senior IT Project Manager

100% onsite (Houston, Texas)
Duration:
6 months, will extend up to 18 months
Responsibilities: Support technical projects from initiation through implementation including phases such as design, build/configure, test, implementation and close. Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, organize, and secure required resources, coordinate project activities, prepare, and monitor project budgets, manage, and resolve project issues. Initiate and maintain reporting relationships with project stakeholders including team members, peers, managers, customers, vendors, auditors, and other affected departments to coordinate efforts across multiple business and technical groups. Assess project dependencies, risks, budget constraints and resource conflicts to ensure successful project implementation. Must be able to develop contingency plans and initiate plans if necessary. Monitors project progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly. Prepares and presents progress reports for management. Lead multiple projects at any given time for various business units. Special Skills:
Ability to develop and maintain project plans and schedules. Ability to develop clear requirements and design specifications and serve as the liaison between the business and Information Technology to ensure that specifications meet business needs. Ability to understand business and technical issues and be able to translate, communicate, and manage project resources and deliverables to ensure on time and on spec delivery. Ability to manage project issues and risks throughout the project. Ability to accurately estimate costs and develop and implement project plans within budgetary guidelines and departmental procedures. Ability to identify, develop, and direct team members strengths, technological resources, and organizational processes to build productive, cooperative work teams. Ability to interact constructively and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and external customers or vendors exercising tact and diplomacy with emphasis on flexibility and professionalism. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to conduct root cause analysis and proactively analyze findings and identify opportunities for improvement. Ability to conduct macro level strategic planning as well as micro level project administration. Ability to manage and reset priorities in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to work with, and gain commitment from, personnel across different disciplines and at different management levels within the organization. Ability to analyze and report project status and research information. Interpersonal Skills:
Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to work and communicate with all levels of staff, management, and executives. Ability to make well-informed decisions.
