Position Description:
In search of a highly skilled professional responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex, scalable data architectures and pipelines for the Census Bureau. This effort is to support the Economic Infrastructure Services (EIS) and its applications for application modernization leveraging new Data products. In supporting the ECON Business customers for operational and infrastructure priorities towards cloud adoption and data migrations. This also includes data refactoring towards rapid cloud adoption on SQL/NoSQL databases or Data Lake with query optimization, procedure conversions and data re-engineering using ETL workflows, Python and PySpark. This position can be located at any CGI office in the U.S, preferred location is Fairfax, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
EIS's Data Engineer will help support data-infrastructure modernization working closely with application and business stakeholders to re-engineer, transform and migrate their legacy databases from Oracle to renewed architecture and enable rapid DME initiatives with cloud adoption.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree. . Be able to demonstrate understanding of the AWS or cloud equivalent platform. . Cloud Migration experience . A solid understanding of traditional RDBMS and NoSQL databases is essential. . Cognizant of current AWS technologies to formulate new solution and/or make recommendations. . Strong written and verbal communication skills. . Creative problem-solving skills. . Experience working with clients and business partners. . Excellent coding skills. . Working knowledge of agile methodologies. Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required: . Certification: There are several certifications for data engineering like Google's Certified Professional Data Engineer, AWS Certified Big Data, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate which are considered beneficial. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $198,400.00.
