Job Title: Concrete Superintendent
Position Type: Full-Time
Industry: Commercial Construction (Vertical Projects Preferred)

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead and oversee structural and architectural concrete operations on commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for supervising field personnel, ensuring quality standards, managing schedules, and maintaining project productivity from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and schedule concrete finishers and on-site personnel

  • Drive productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and overall project performance

  • Mentor crews and promote team growth and development

  • Lead structural concrete training initiatives

  • Build strong team morale through positive leadership and accountability

Job & Site Setup

  • Meet with project leadership prior to job start to review schedules, blueprints, and manpower needs

  • Develop work plans aligned with project budgets and production goals

  • Determine form systems, crew size, and concrete production strategies

  • Conduct pre-installation conferences, build mock-ups, and enforce quality standards

  • Maintain open communication with project teams regarding manpower and project needs

Schedule Management

  • Identify schedule risks and implement mitigation plans

  • Maintain and update rolling 3-week schedules and monthly master schedules

  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendor deliveries

  • Ensure milestone dates are achieved

  • Document and communicate project delays; develop recovery plans as needed

  • Manage staging, access, material movement, and productivity tracking

Financial Oversight

  • Review budgets and assist with job cost setup for concrete scopes

  • Track self-performed work and ensure alignment with project budget

Subcontractor Coordination

  • Oversee subcontractor concrete-related activities

  • Ensure accurate documentation and updated as-built drawings

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of construction experience across multiple aspects of the industry

  • Strong background in vertical commercial construction (preferred)

  • Experience with architectural concrete (preferred)

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail

Working Conditions:

This position includes time spent both in an office environment and on active job sites. Regular standing, walking, and job site inspections are required.
