We are seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineering Manager to join our Model Delivery team within Autodesk Research. In this leadership role, you will oversee the deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and operational excellence of ML-powered features, including 2D/3D generative models and other AI functionalities utilized across Autodesk products. This position is based near our North American Autodesk offices in cities such as San Francisco, Portland, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. We offer flexible work arrangements, including in-person, hybrid, and remote options. Responsibilities Lead and expand a team of ML engineers dedicated to developing production ML systems.
Enhance models based on production feedback, emerging research, and platform advancements.
Oversee ML services production release processes, including planning, CI/CD, and staged rollouts.
Create and manage robust observability practices for ML features, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Establish scalable evaluation frameworks and automated regression tests to ensure quality standards.
Drive reliability, performance, and cost optimization for inference and service delivery, meeting specified SLAs.
Collaborate with researchers and product teams to set quality benchmarks and production readiness, including Trusted AI criteria.
Develop and refine production standards across ML features, ensuring robust testing, evaluation, and governance.
Work with platform and product teams to integrate ML capabilities successfully into our offerings.
Minimum Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in building and operating software systems, including production ML systems.
Experience leading teams, with a focus on technical mentorship, direction setting, and timely delivery.
Proficient in cloud infrastructure and observability (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiar with CI/CD processes and operational excellence in production services.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications Experience owning complete production ML services, from releases to monitoring and continuous improvements.
Knowledge of model evaluation metrics and continuous testing in CI/production workflows.
Experience in optimizing inference cost and latency.
Familiar with deploying large-scale models and associated performance tradeoffs.
Experience with 3D data (geometry, CAD, BIM) or generative AI systems is a plus.
Understanding of CAD, BIM, manufacturing, AEC, or media workflows.

Learn more about our benefits in the U.S. Salary Transparency The expected starting base salary for this U.S.-based role ranges from $148,500 to $266,200, depending on experience and location. In addition, our compensation may include bonuses, commissions, stock grants, and extensive benefits.
