The Junior Network Engineer works with Senior Level Engineers and the Information Services Manager on providing daily IT operation support to our users. Daily tasks include supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, resolving user reported questions and issues.
Handles daily tier one support from end users and generate tickets. Organizes daily support tickets and completes them in a timely manner. Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis. Maintains operational, configuration, or other procedures. Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services. Complete assignments provided by Senior Engineer in a timely manner. Follows procedure to maintain user accounts per request. Performs daily routine checking on servers and services. Performs on call role to provide 24/7 support to end users. Occasionally assists higher-level Network Engineers to design and test system architecture and software packages. Requirements:
Knowledge Familiar with Microsoft Window AD environment or similar Directory Service. Basic experience with command line (DOS and Unix-like shell) Knowledge in TCP/IP, VPN, RDP, and other network protocols. Knowledge in CISCO and FORTINET network equipment would be a plus. Experience with end user support. Ability to evaluate software package and plan for deployment. Self-motivated and team oriented. S. in Computer Science or related field preferred. 0-3 years’ experience in related field.
