Role summary:
Database Engineer responsible for engineering and operational support of
cloud-based data platforms
(primarily
Snowflake ) used for enterprise analytics and data pipelines. The role focuses on
performance, reliability, security (RBAC), monitoring, and day-to-day platform operations , partnering with ETL/BI teams to ensure stable data availability
Required Skills & Experience
Core Skills Bachelor's in CS/IS or equivalent. 5-8+ years
experience in Database Engineering / Cloud Data Platform operations Strong experience with:
Snowflake administration
and
RBAC Advanced
SQL
and database troubleshooting
Understanding of
incident, problem, and change management
processes (ITIL aligned). Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Cloud exposure ( AWS preferred ) Autosys or scheduler exposure (or similar orchestration tools) Automation scripting (Python/Shell) Key Responsibilities
1) Cloud Database Administration (Snowflake)
Administer and support
Snowflake
objects (databases, schemas, roles, warehouses) and access controls (RBAC). Support platform stability and availability for analytics and data pipeline workloads. 2) Performance & Cost Optimization
Assist with performance tuning and cost optimization (warehouse sizing, query troubleshooting, workload management). Monitor usage patterns and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. 3) Monitoring, ing & Operational Support
Monitor platform health and help implement/maintain
monitoring and ing . Support incident triage and resolution under the guidance of lead/support processes (ITIL aligned). 4) Change/Release Support
Support database changes and releases (deployment validation, controlled changes, rollback readiness). Maintain environment stability across lower and production environments as required. 5) Automation & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to operational automation (scripts/runbooks) to improve reliability and reduce manual effort. Maintain documentation for operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and platform standards.
