Manufacturing Engineer – Medical Devices

I’m currently partnered with a well-established manufacturing organisation operating in a highly regulated environment, and they’re looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to their onsite Longford, Ireland team. This role will focus on process development, continuous improvement, and supporting production to ensure high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing outcomes.

This is a full-time, onsite position, with occasional travel to suppliers or customers.

The Role:
  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes to improve productivity and product quality
  • Create and maintain standard work instructions and ensure manufacturability (DFM / DFMA)
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Production, and Quality teams to support new and existing products
  • Support and uphold the Quality Management System in line with ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and GMP requirements
  • Analyse production costs, cycle times, and layouts to optimise workflow and reduce waste
  • Evaluate and improve quality control processes to meet regulatory and industry standards
  • Analyse manufacturing data and prepare reports to support management decision-making
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities for production equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or similar
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering role within a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement
  • Experience with CAD / CAM, robotics and automation integration
  • Knowledge of FMEA, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and process validation (IQ / OQ / PQ)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
