Senior Development Underwriter – Professional Indemnity

If you’re an experienced Professional Indemnity Underwriter in Dublin, you’ll recognise this position.

You’ve built trusted broker relationships.

But the bigger decisions? They sit elsewhere.

Appetite is dictated from above.

Strategy is shaped in another office.

Progression often means more governance, more reporting, more internal management — and less real market impact.

This opportunity changes that dynamic.

A highly successful global MGA with an established £3bn international platform is launching its Professional Indemnity proposition in Ireland. The UK operation is mature, profitable and well supported, with actuarial, claims, IT and capacity infrastructure already embedded.

What’s missing is a commercially credible PI leader on the ground in Dublin to build and shape the Irish portfolio properly.

You will take ownership of a broad, open-market PI book across accountants, engineers, architects, surveyors, design & construct and miscellaneous professions. You’ll be visible, market-facing and empowered to trade.

From day one, you’ll influence underwriting appetite, pricing philosophy and broker strategy specific to Ireland.

This is not a caretaker position within a large corporate structure. It is a genuine build mandate — with meaningful underwriting authority and strategic input — but without the volatility and capital risk of a start-up.

As the book scales, you will recruit and shape your own underwriting team.

The remuneration reflects the level of responsibility: €130,000–€150,000 base salary, performance bonus, strong pension, private medical and executive benefits.

This will suit a commercially minded PI underwriter who knows the Irish broker market, enjoys trading relationships and wants autonomy with real backing. xcfaprz
