Job Summary:
Join our dedicated team as a Receiving Clerk in Madison, Wisconsin! We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to manage the crucial first step in our warehouse operations: receiving incoming goods. Your responsibilities will include accurately unloading, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. You'll be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, identifying any discrepancies, and ensuring materials are properly staged for internal distribution. This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to handle moderate Lifting, and a strong commitment to Safety. We prioritize a secure work environment and require all staff to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments efficiently and safely.
  • Inspect goods for damage and verify against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Document all received items accurately in the inventory management system.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Stage received materials for put-away or further processing.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring compliance with Safety regulations.
  • Properly use and maintain all required PPE.
  • Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve receiving issues.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred.
  • Ability to perform frequent Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
  • Strong data entry skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of Safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to following established procedures.
