We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is fundamental to the efficient flow of materials within our warehouse, ensuring everything is in the right place at the right time. Your responsibilities will include receiving and inspecting incoming materials, transporting them to designated storage areas, and delivering materials to production or shipping departments as needed. You will operate various material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and dollies, safely and efficiently. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment is paramount, requiring strict adherence to all company safety policies and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role, possess a strong work ethic, and be capable of performing tasks involving significant Lifting. Understanding of basic logistics and inventory control principles is beneficial. This position is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and supporting our overall logistics strategy. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Stock materials in designated storage areas accurately.
- Deliver materials to appropriate departments or workstations.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as required, supporting logistics functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and material handling procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
