We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods throughout our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating various types of forklifts and have a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. You will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. This position requires precision, awareness, and a dedication to maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working order, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Verify that shipments are accurate and free from damage before and after transport.
- Organize and stack inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper placement for accessibility and safety.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the use of required PPE.
- Follow all logistics and warehouse procedures to ensure efficient operations.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production goals and maintain optimal warehouse performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Proficiency in operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE at all times in designated areas.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
