We are seeking a motivated Distribution Center Associate for our busy facility in Chicago, Illinois. This role is fundamental to our supply chain and logistics network, involving a wide range of tasks to ensure the efficient flow of goods. You will be involved in receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products. A commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders.
- Sort, organize, and stock inventory accurately in assigned locations.
- Pick customer orders using RF scanners or other designated equipment.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently for shipment, ensuring product integrity.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and proficiently.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and participate in cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment according to company standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and consistently use required PPE.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics role is a strong asset.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including frequent lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Experience operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Understanding and practice of workplace safety procedures.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety guidelines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
