Join our thriving logistics operation in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a skilled Forklift Operator. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from designated areas, and stacking items securely. You will perform routine checks on your forklift to ensure it is in good working order and report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount; therefore, strict adherence to all safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification and have a proven track record of safe operation. Experience with various types of forklifts, such as sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks, is highly desirable. Your attention to detail will ensure accurate inventory placement and minimize damage to goods. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work collaboratively with the warehouse team. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport goods to and from storage areas.
- Stack items and organize inventory accurately.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse layout, supporting overall logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of logistics operations is beneficial.
