We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our high-volume distribution center in Chicago, Illinois. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse using various types of forklifts. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring timely movement of goods for receiving, storage, and shipping. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and a proven track record of reliable operation. We offer a competitive salary and a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers.
- Move and stack merchandise in designated warehouse locations.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Certified forklift operator with demonstrated experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
