Cole Engineering Services (CESI), a By Light company, is recognized as a premier provider of modeling and simulation (M&S) training solutions to the Federal Government and industry. CESI is seeking motivated software development candidates to lead development of modern full stack software applications. The candidate will participate in an Agile scrum team in the development of a fully functional production application. This is an onsite position in Orlando, FL. Responsibilities
The responsibilities include recommending corrections in technical applications and analysis, providing technical mentorship and guidance to less-experienced engineering staff, working through an Agile-based full-cycle development that includes requirements analysis, design, & implementation, applying software engineering standards and assisting the engineering team in software system or subsystem development and documentation efforts, understanding and adhering to project schedules and staying within established budgets, efficiently diagnosing and debugging front-end and back-end software issues, clearly and effectively communicating problems and solutions with the team and external stakeholders, both verbally and electronically, and planning, conducting, technically directing and evaluating software projects across and agile development cycle. Required Experience/Qualifications
The required experience/qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university, minimum of 10 years applicable progressively complex software design engineering experience, minimum 10 years software engineering experience at increasingly complex levels, strong object-oriented programming expertise, strong expertise with Angular and Java Spring Boot desired, experience with containerization of applications, experience in Linux shell scripting, experience in cloud-based infrastructures and environments, Agile development process and planning tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.), and strong understanding of modern software repository applications, branching schemas, and deployment concepts. Preferred Experience/Qualifications
Knowledge in any of the following areas would be considered a plus: strong understanding and application of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence concepts across the software development environment, experience in Kubernetes and container orchestration, experience with back-end development, including node.js, web servers (Nginx, Apache, etc.), database servers, etc., secure web-based development, database design and modern data storage and retrieval schemas, and understanding of the DoD cyber training mission.
