Software Engineering Manager

Software Engineering Manager - Hands-on (Kotlin)- 1 day in office every couple of weeks

Are you a seasoned engineering manager who still likes to stay close to the tech and getting your hands dirty with the code? This role will fulfill all of those needs.

A large-ish multinational eComm company are looking for someone who can blend the following with ease:

1: People leadership - Setting 1 to 1s, setting goals and KPIs etc

2: Technical architecture - Sitting in on design meetings.

3: Product focused - Meeting with the heads of product frequently and assessing tech feasibilities.

4: Hands-on development when called upon to give your team a dig out.

You will oversee a team of 5 or 6 engineers, guiding them through new feature development etc.

From a hands-on technical perspective, you will have experience with:

React/TypeScript (Not a deal breaker as this role is heavily backend leaning)

JVM languages - Scala, Java or Kotlin on backend, but will consider polyglots

This role would suit someone who is looking to work in a scale-up environment, little red tape, access to the VP of eng on a consistent basis, lots of ambiguity and thriving in such environments, and the overall wear many hats. xcfaprz

This role is majority remote, they would like people to come to the office 2 times per month for in-person collaboration.
