  • Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

Responsibilities:
  • Performs various indirect patient care support and services to include but not limited to transporting patients and lab specimens, assist with patient positioning and maintaining patient care rooms to ensure a sterile environment. 
  • In addition, may be required to provide basic clerical support for assigned area. 
  • Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
  • Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge.
  • Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology.
  • Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Certified OR Tech.
  • 1 year OR experience.
  • CORT or CST.
  • United States
