4 months Position Overview
The Database Administrator (DBA) C - Advanced is responsible for ensuring database architectures, schemas, and data dictionaries meet enterprise standards. The role involves designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining relational and spatial databases across multiple platforms, supporting GIS services and enterprise applications. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust data architectures that meet organizational needs and adhere to security standards. Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience Experience:
5+ years of combined database administration experience across the following platforms: PostgreSQL and Oracle (GIS/spatial databases) SQL Server 2012 and above Oracle 19c and above
Experience with ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS Enterprise, and cloud-hosted GIS services (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Azure GIS integrations) Experience with Azure SQL is a plus Primary Responsibilities Perform daily database operational and administration activities Plan, design, implement, and support database structures Conduct database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization Develop and maintain DBA procedures and documentation Perform SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL code reviews Assist with training and mentoring other technical staff Collaborate with teams to ensure database solutions align with organizational and security standards Participate in other database or infrastructure tasks as required Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS) principles and design Ability to independently analyze, evaluate, and resolve large-scale enterprise database issues Knowledge of ESRI SDE Geodatabases and spatial data management Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills Customer service orientation and collaboration skills with Project Managers, Analysts, and technical staff Ability to design relational databases and prepare complex database specifications Strong technical communication, both written and verbal Ability to develop and manage databases per departmental standards Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback while maintaining effective work relationships General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Initiative:
