What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of a project team, and supported by experienced senior engineers, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of varied and meaningful work, including:
Client & Project Interaction
- Liaising directly with clients (under direction of a Project Manager) to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, well‑coordinated design solutions.
- Contributing to the preparation and review of tender documentation and tender assessments.
Design & Technical Delivery
- Reviewing design work prepared by Graduate Engineers, offering guidance and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Preparing preliminary design options, reports, and detailed design drawings using industry‑standard software.
- Collaborating across disciplines to produce accurate design specifications.
Construction & Contract Administration
- Contributing to the procurement of Site Investigation, Building, and Civil Engineering contracts.
- Assisting in the administration of construction contracts to ensure design intent, timelines, and budgets are achieved.
- Working closely with your Line Manager, Project Manager, and senior engineers to support project delivery and maintain excellence across all outputs.
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
Technical & Software Proficiency
- Strong competence in AutoCAD 2D/3D, with enthusiasm for developing skills in AutoCAD 3D, BIM tools (e.g., Autodesk Revit), and other modelling platforms.
- Willingness to advance proficiency in MicroDrainage, GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, MapInfo), and related engineering design tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, and other relevant technical packages.
Professional Competence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A structured approach to problem‑solving and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of construction contracts (such as public works contract forms).
