Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Environmental, Health and Safety Officer to be based on our client’s site in Clonee. This position will assist and advise relevant project sites on all aspects with regards to Health and Safety, being the first point of contact for Site related H&S queries. Working with the EHS Manager to ensure the established standards, processes, controls, training and systems in place in regards Health and Safety are adhered to.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in carrying out site safety inspections/audits on the Client site, including but not limited to the monitoring of PPE compliance, safe systems of work, safety documentation, environmental hazards & welfare facilities.
  • Ensure adequate H&S support is available at the client’s site and to all company supervisors/chargehands.
  • Assist in developing and carry out toolbox talks, inductions, and training.
  • Assist the EHS Manager with accident and incident investigation, ensuring HSA accident reporting and enforcement response.
  • Complete accident and incident investigation and reports.
  • Organise H&S training to all levels of staff, including health and safety management, manual handling, and First Aid Training.
  • Complete or assist in the preparation of Method statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS Legislation including but not limited to the following Construction Regulations compliance:

    • Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
    • Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005

  • Attendance and reporting at meetings as required.
  • Protect the company’s interest in all matters pertaining to health and safety issues.
  • Develop and build on the existing good safety culture in Onnec and cultivate and grow safe work practice to the highest standard.
  • Actively participate in and support the company’s global safety programme.
  • Assist with the implementation of ISO 45001 and support the ongoing maintenance of the certified management system.
  • All of the above is required but not limited to.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH accreditation or equivalent.
  • Ability to confidently present in client facing meetings to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Manual Handling Instructor, Abrasive Wheels Instructor and Working at Heights Instructor would be advantageous.
  • Professional approach coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Meticulous attention to detail while also conveying a sense of urgency. xcfaprz
  • Strong problem‑solving capability, possessing a demonstrated capacity to identify problem root causes, deliver solutions, risk assess.
