A Global semiconductor giant based in Cork are seeking to bolster their team with a talented Linux Platform Developer.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Linux Host Software Development: Architect, implement, and optimize Linux user-space components, kernel-adjacent drivers, and libraries in modern C++, supporting high-performance AI inference and secure compute platforms.
  • Own End-to-End Subsystem Delivery: Take full ownership of complex software subsystems—from architecture and API design through hardware integration, bring-up, validation, and production readiness.
  • Drive Testing, Quality, and CI Strategy: Design and implement comprehensive unit, integration, and system-level test frameworks; establish automation best practices to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Enable Secure Compute & Virtualization Capabilities: Integrate with Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), secure and software-isolated VMs, and support technologies such as PCIe device assignment and SR-IOV, including attestation and lifecycle security features.
  • Provide Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Guide architectural decisions, lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, security, hypervisor, and cloud teams to deliver robust, end-to-end solutions.
Requirements
  • Extensive Linux Systems Programming Expertise: Strong experience developing Linux system software in modern C/C++, including user-space applications, multi-threaded systems, synchronization, and API design.
  • Deep Understanding of Linux & Low-Level Systems: Solid knowledge of Linux internals, drivers, kernel concepts, PCIe, system bring-up, debugging, tracing, and performance profiling.
  • Strong Architecture & Design Background: Experience with object-oriented design, UML, and large-scale system architecture; ability to balance low‑level implementation detail with system‑wide perspective.
  • Hardware & Platform Knowledge: Good understanding of SoC architecture, memory hierarchies, interconnects, I/O subsystems, and secure compute or virtualization technologies (e.g., TEEs, KVM, SR‑IOV).
  • Staff‑Level Experience & Leadership Capability: Typically 6+ years of relevant industry experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex subsystems, architectural influence, cross-functional collaboration, and strong written and verbal communication skills. xcfaprz
