The System Administrator, Engineering Intern position on the R&D IT Team reports to the Senior Manager, R&D, and supports ongoing R&D IT system operations. In this role, the intern will work across a diverse technology stack to build, install, maintain, administer, and document server environments throughout the R&D organization. Success in this position requires strong independent research and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to stay focused and productive while working with minimal supervision.
This is a 10-12 week internship based 100% onsite in Snoqualmie, Washington. We are seeking local students pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher computer science, electrical engineering w/ software focus, or a related field.
Responsibilities
Building and Maintaining Environments to include Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Networks, and Applications. Documentation of Systems and Environments. Detailed scheduling of tasks and responsibilities. Capacity Planning and Goal Management. Coordination with other IT personnel and Business representatives to ensure documented goals are met on time. Ensure environmental integrity and security, including periodic audits. Perform and test routine system backups and restores Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems in the environment. Escalate incidents as necessary Maintain asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Support business teams throughout project lifecycles. Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases Research emerging products, services, protocols, and standards to support systems software procurement and development initiatives. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Technical expertise in VMware, Citrix, and NetApp systems is desired but not required. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in interpreting and producing technical documentation. Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Mandatory exemplary attention to detail and customer service orientation. This position is onsite in Snoqualmie, WA 100%.

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.
