DevOps Platform Engineer

Remote-first | Occasional visits to Kerry | Greenfield Cloud Platform

A technology-driven organisation in the financial services sector is building a greenfield cloud platform and is hiring a DevOps Platform Engineer to help design and operate it from the ground up.

This is not a role for someone who has only deployed applications into Kubernetes or consumed existing Terraform modules. We are looking for an engineer who has designed infrastructure patterns, built reusable Terraform modules, and operated production Kubernetes clusters at scale.

You will be part of a platform team creating a secure, automated, self-service cloud environment that engineering teams rely on every day.

• 
  
• Designing and building cloud infrastructure architecture in GCP and Azure
  
• Writing and maintaining reusable, production-grade Terraform modules
  
• Owning and operating production Kubernetes clusters (GKE / AKS) - upgrades, scaling, networking, security, troubleshooting
  
• Implementing GitOps workflows using ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize
  
• Designing secure networking (VPCs, peering, VPNs, policies)
  
• Building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform services
  
• Implementing IAM/RBAC and authentication (OIDC, SAML, LDAP)
  
• Delivering observability using Prometheus and Grafana
  
• Automating platform operations using Bash and Python/Go/Ruby
  

Kubernetes (Design & Operations Level)

• 
  
• Hands-on experience managing and operating production clusters
  
• Experience with cluster upgrades, scaling strategies, networking, RBAC, and security hardening
  
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals - not just deploying Helm charts
  

Terraform (Architecture & Module Design Level)

• 
  
• Designing infrastructure patterns from scratch
  
• Writing reusable, versioned Terraform xcfaprz modules
  
• Structuring multi-environment deployments and managing state properly
  
• Strong understanding of Terraform workflows, not just execution
  

Cloud & Networking

• 
  
• Production experience in GCP and/or Azure
  
• Strong knowledge of VPC design, VPNs, peering, IAM, and network security
  
• Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments is a plus
